Canada Home Care Support to Families

HomeCare@IDO hires full-time or part-time home care workers with ethnic Asian background (mostly from China, Hong Kong or Philippines). As we grow and expand, we are looking to strengthen our home care support team for the following in-home services:

✅Personal care: Daily care for infants, children and seniors.

✅Home dining: Prepare meals that fit Chinese appetite and dietary needs.

✅Housekeeping:  House cleaning, laundry and light home maintenance.

✅Errands: Grocery shopping, local pick-ups or drop-offs.

We target ethnic Chinese and Hong Kong families with:

1. Infant/Child (aged 14 or under), or
2. Senior (aged 65 or above)

GAIN WORK EXPERIENCE

We have FT/PT community visiting positions available in Vancouver. Home care visits are paid on hourly basis, ranging from $20-35, depending on the level of expertise.  It will be useful if you are:

1. Fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese
2. Able to drive with your own vehicle
3. Able to cook Chinese meals
4. Qualified for Health Care Assistant (HCA), Community Health Worker (CHW) or Early Childhood Education (ECE), Personal Support Worker (PSW), Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

PATHWAY TO CANADA PERMANENT RESIDENT

FT staff can also gain work experience towards the Home Care Worker Immigration pilots (HCWIPs), which is a viable way to become permanent residents of Canada, in either of the following job categories:

• Home child care providers (NOC 44100), or (Take care of Children)
• Home support workers, caregivers and related occupations(NOC 44101) (Take care of seniors, persons with disabilities and convalescent clients)

To qualify for the captioned job position, you must be:

• 18 years or older
• With valid working status in Canada (e.g. Open work permit, Post-graduate work permit, Study permit holder can work for no more than 24 hours per week, Working holiday work permit, PR/ Citizen are also welcomed.)
